Randy started with a simple idea: Why isn’t there an easier way to study for the Operator’s exam?

While I was in class, I realized there were no solid tools out there. While there were some out there, there wasn't many online practice tests, no real way to shuffle questions or track progress, and nothing built too specifically for water and wastewater Operators. One of my classmates made a comment that stuck with me, and it got me thinking: this should exist.

So I built it.

At the same time, AI was just starting to emerge, and I saw the opportunity to combine it with the real-world material we were using in class. In fact, Randy’s very first data set came directly from the handouts and study materials we were given. That became the foundation: real, relevant, operator-approved content.

Randy is more than a flashcard app. He’s a smart (and slightly funny) raccoon who helps Operators study, explains answers when you miss them, and celebrates when you get it right. He doesn’t guess or go out to the web to get his information.  He’s trained on DEP, EPA, and public regulatory data, tailored specifically for this industry.

What started as a tool to help my classmates has grown into something a lot bigger. Now, Randy is here for anyone working toward their license—or just trying to stay sharp on the job.
